As a Ceramicist, Artist and Designer/Painter, it is important for Lesley to create beauty, and she uses the beauty of nature and its design in her work.
She has trained in Graphic Art and Design at Kwantlen College in Vancouver Canada. Jewellery Design with the Gemmologicall Society of America, and Interior Design with a Sydney Australia School.
She sais “I started learning Sculpture in 1999 with Midge Johannssen at the Gold Coast in Australia and became ‘hooked ‘ on making in a three dimensional form what I had previously painted and had to use light and shade, to indicate the 3rd dimension.“
Although Lesley can use the potters wheel she prefers to handbuild her work.
“I want my work to be jewell like and beautiful to look at and still be able to use it to bring that beauty into every day living, and so I design and hand build original and unusual Earthenware Clay Urns and Dinnerware,”
Lesley makes complete sets with Tureens, Serving Bowls, Salad/ Desert Bowls and Plates decorated with glazes and enamels and 12ct gold embellishments.
These art works are fired at least four times, sometimes more to build up the gold layering. Her work is expensive but the price is reflected in the quality of the work .
Lesley has some items made and ready for shipping but works in the main on a commission basis and is happy for the client to choose a theme and then to design and build a set based on their request.

A full six piece dinner set will cost AU $3,500.dollars .
An eight piece setting is AU $4,000 but the price will vary depending on the complexity of the design and Lesley requests 10% of the purchase price on ordering,.. and the remainder to be paid prior to shipping. She has a shipping agency in place to ensure your art pieces will arrive safely!
