2020 Haro Station (Rioja) Wine Experience postponed to 2021

– The pandemic forces a move to 19 June 2021 – Tickets already purchased for this year will be valid for the 2021 event.

Haro, April 2020—

The Station District Association has decided to postpone the Haro Station Wine Experience, which was to be held on 20 June 2020, due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19. The new date for the celebration of this great wine and food festival, a world reference in wine tourism, is 19 June 2021. The postponement is taken as a responsible, preventive measure to ensure that this great event maintains its true essence: the pleasure of sharing and toasting together with the best wines of La Rioja.

Therefore, the organization has decided to set a new date for the Haro Station Wine Experience and ensure its continuity for all wine and food lovers who had planned to attend the event this year.

Tickets purchased for the 2020 event are valid for the 2021 event and do not need to be replaced.

In addition, a box of six of the twelve wines that would have been tasted in the 20 June edition this year will be offered for purchase (one from each winery), so attendants can hold a virtual alternative Wine Experience to coincide with the date of the postponed tasting. Part of the proceeds of the case will be used in solidarity efforts to alleviate the effects of the pandemic in sectors such as the on-trade industry. However, anyone who wishes to do so may request a refund of the early bird price.

The 2021 edition will have the same philosophy and characteristics as the celebration planned for 2020. The six participating wineries (Bodegas RODA, Bodegas Bilbaínas Viña Pomal, CVNE, Bodegas Muga, La Rioja Alta, S.A. and Gómez Cruzado) will each be offering two wines, as well as various dishes and a dessert prepared by renowned chefs.

The Haro Station Wine Experience

Every two years, the Station District opens its doors to welcome this great celebration that brings together the wineries CVNE, Gómez Cruzado, La Rioja Alta, S.A., Viña Pomal Bodegas Bilbaínas, Bodegas Muga and Bodegas RODA, on an unforgettable day where Rioja wine and cuisine are the true key players.

The event has been very well received by the national and international press and critics, winning the Innovative Wine Tourism Experiences Best of Wine Tourism award given by the Great Wine Capitals Global Network in 2015, the Prize for the Best Wine Tourism Experience at the International Wine Challenge Awards Spain and the Rioja Capital Award for a Unique Initiative granted by the Government of La Rioja in 2016. More recently, the Haro Station Wine Experience earned the 2018 award for Best Wine Tourism Initiative given by Wine Routes of Spain and the Mass Vino association of media wine communicators Best Wine Tourism Experience of the Year award.
