Paris
Yayoi Kusama
10 Oct 2011 - 9 Jan 2012; not Tue
Centre Pompidou
Wed-Sun 11am-9pm
Paris's Centre Pompidou presents France's first retrospective of Yayoi Kusama, a Japanese artist known for her psychedelic polka dot motifs . The 150 works on show provide the most surrealist experience you can have on Paris art scene right now.
Repetition to the point of 'obsession' is the strength of Kusama's works (which influenced Pop Art). At the Pompidou, they take you through mirrored rooms that reflect light and dots in such a way that you feel like your floating through outer-space.
